    • Themes (oppression, pain and suffering)

📙 Paper 3 – Imaginative Composition & Set Text Essays (60 Marks)

Imaginative Composition (20 marks):

  • Option A: Write a composition beginning: “The moment I saw him, I knew my life would…”

  • Option B: Write a composition on: “Technological advancement has impacted negatively on the society, especially the youth.”

Compulsory Set Text – The Samaritan by John Lara (20 marks):

  • Essay topic: “Most people use intimidation and blackmail to protect their selfish interests, but more often than not, their plans do not succeed.”

  • Key points:

    • Posts – Mayor Mossi intimidates Nicole to delete posts; she refuses; he is arrested

    • Withdrawal – Narine intimidates Nicole to close the App; fails

    • The Letter – Mayor forces Nicole to write a letter; she cites ministry approval
