📘 Paper 1 – Functional Writing, Cloze Test & Oral Skills (60 Marks)

Functional Writing (20 marks):

📗 Paper 2 – Comprehension, Literary Appreciation & Grammar (80 Marks)

Comprehension (20 marks):

• Read and answer questions on a passage about Death, Social Media and Etiquette

• Topics covered:

  • Advantage of conveying death in case of long illness

  • Results of conveying sudden death

  • Need for social media etiquette around death

  • Tone (critical, disapproving, concerned, reflective, advisory)

Literary Appreciation – Excerpt (25 marks):

• Analyze an excerpt from Paul B. Vitta’s Fathers of Nations (Comrade Melusi and the visitor)

• Key focus areas:

  • Events before the excerpt

  • Character traits of visitor (curious/inquisitive)

📙 Paper 3 – Imaginative Composition & Set Text Essays (60 Marks)

Imaginative Composition (20 marks):

• Option B: Write a composition on the negative effects of social media and explain how the youth can avoid its negative aspects.

Compulsory Set Text – The Samaritan by John Lara (20 marks):

• Essay topic: “Leaders who engage in social evils in the society will always try to hide those evils when exposed but they fail miserably.” (Focus on Mayor Mossi)

• Key points:
